Traveling goes beyond merely observing sights; it involves engaging with people, immersing oneself in a new culture, language, heritage, and cuisine. At Al Hakim, we take great pride in our Nazarene heritage and our deep connection to the city. We are enthusiastic about offering our guests a completely authentic experience, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
Our family values and traditions are at the core of our work
Our commitment to family values and traditions is deeply embedded in our work. In the early 1930s, Mr. Tawfiq Hakim embarked on his career journey by opening a tool shop for carpenters in the bustling carpenters market. Interestingly, this shop was located just a short distance away from his father’s fabric shop, Najeeb Hakim. Even at a young age, Tawfiq, filled with enthusiasm, was determined to find opportunities to start his career.
As time progressed, Tawfiq made the decision to expand his small tool shop into a fully equipped carpentry business. He consistently stayed up to date with industry advancements. In the late 1960s, he expanded once again by purchasing a former housing facility that accommodated 40 people. This expansion transformed the establishment into one of Nazareth’s first furniture shops, serving the community with refrigerators and washing machines for over four decades.
An ongoing family legacy..
Fast forward to 2015, Tawfiq’s son Rayek, along with his wife Abir and their son Bassam, undertook the remodeling of the old furniture shop, ultimately opening the Al Hakim Hotel after two years of renovation and preservation. This charming boutique hotel now features ten fully equipped private rooms.
During the COVID pandemic, amidst the lockdown, we recognized the importance of continuously improving and providing quality services to our guests. This led us to develop an authentic cooking workshop, equipped with portable cooking stations, to offer the utmost convenience for our guests. Additionally, we introduced alternative tours, such as the Nazareth Insider Tour, which explores the city’s religious significance, social and financial importance, as well as its international influences from countries like France, Russia, England, and others. These tours also highlight 19th-century mansions and houses, as well as notable local and international figures like Daher al Umar al Zaidani, House of Medici, and Bella Hadid.
